Were you ever "just that close" to death?

Last night, while visiting Linda, we were all awakened by the carbon monoxide alarm that thankfully was plugged in! The cleaning lady tends to unplug it but lucky for us Linda plugged it back in and we woke up to a house full of smoke in the middle of the night. As she came to wake me up, I tasted the acrid smoke but had been sleeping soundly. That brought up our next topic:

How many times in your life have you had a near brush with death? The time you almost had a car accident, or you put the safety chain on your door and someone tried to get in, or you stupidly ran across 5 lanes of a freeway to get to the call box? I look back onto those "near misses" and am so GRATEFUL that my angels kept me from harm's way, and that I have another chance to keep on going. Ok...if you had to assign an animal type to your significant other, what would it be??? A porcupine, a bunny rabbit or something in between? Linda and I cannot figure out what the in between would be. And what is the best type of animal that your partner could be? Share please...
